Part 7: “October”

Part 7, Chapter 52 Summary: “Leon”

Leon stands between two suits of armor, modeling Katherin’s designs in a Welsh castle, reflecting that his life has gotten stranger since he’s met Tiffy. Kay had always criticized him for being too set in his ways, but with Tiffy, it has felt easy and comfortable to try new things.

Leon notices that Martin is always glaring at him; he and Tiffy haven’t told anyone that they are together yet, but he wonders if Martin somehow knows and is angry about it. Whenever Leon has a break and tries to spend some time with Tiffy, Martin finds some way to keep them apart.

Finally, they have a moment alone, and between kisses, Tiffy tells Leon that they will finally have the flat to themselves next weekend. Leon regretfully tells her that Richie’s trial is on Friday and he is planning to stay with his mother that weekend. He thinks she will be mad at him, but she is only sorry that she will miss the trial because she has Katherin’s book party the same day. Leon hadn’t been expecting her to come to the trial and is touched that she wanted to and relieved that she isn’t mad at him.

Leon considers telling her that he could start picking up day shifts so they’d have more time together, but before he does, she suggests getting a calendar for the flat so they are more aware of each other’s schedules.
